Who We Are
Founded in 2001, Wagging Tails Dog Rescue is a charitable, non-profit corporation licensed by the state of New Hampshire to rescue and place dogs in adoptive homes. As canine "Rehoming Facilitation Specialists," our goal is to bring loving, responsible humans together with family-friendly dogs. We bring dogs into foster care for evaluation, veterinary services, spay/neuter, and ultimately, rehoming. Most of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in the South and Midwest. We may also accept local dogs for rehoming.
Our mission:
- To promote and foster the humane treatment of, and the prevention of cruelty to all animals;
- To advocate the early spay/neuter of all domestic animals kept as pets;
- To advocate through education, the responsible ownership of dogs;
- To rescue, rehabilitate, spay/neuter, and responsibly re-home dogs obtained from kill shelters, rescue organizations, owner surrenders, and all other sources as determined by the WTDR Board of Directors;
- To provide veterinary services, training and assessment as needed to animals in our care and to humanely euthanize animals too ill, injured, or aggressive to be rehabilitated.
We are a "virtual shelter," completely run by volunteers. All dogs are fostered in private homes, where the dogs live as family members until adopted. We have successfully re-homed over 500 deserving dogs to wonderful families throughout New England.
Would you like to help? There are many opportunities to get involved. We welcome you to join in our effort.

Jake has been sweet and gentle so far and we just love having him around. He has his quirks, such as hoarding my socks in his bed (something I was apprehensive about at first, but he hasn't destroyed any of them!) We love all the silly things he does. |
